Cleveland Kids Book Bank
As part of our 30 years/30 hours campaign, the Arkinetics team spent some time sorting books at the Cleveland Kids Book Bank. Did you know the Kids Book Bank has distributed over $1M children’s book in the past 2 years? Reading is critical to ensure success in school and life, but two-thirds of low-income families don’t own a single children’s book. This was a great opportunity for Arkinetics to spend some time out of the office with each other and give back to a great cause in our community.
Here’s an extract from the Kids Book Bank website:
Having books in the home and being read to as a child are the two most important indicators of academic and lifetime success. Access to books is critical for brain development and academic success. The Kids Book Bank distributes their books through agencies that teach parents and caregivers to read with their children, Little Free Libraries, schools, pediatricians, childcare centers, and after-school programs.
